Certifications
In 2012, the journal received the Certificate of Excellence from the Spanish Federation of Science and Technology (FECYT). Only 31 journals from a total of the 255 submitted for the third call of the FECYT quality assessment were awarded certification (a 12% success rate). The aim of the FECYT seal of quality is to acknowledge and publicize the fact that the Spanish research journals meet international editorial quality standards. The seal of quality is valid for a period of three years. Journals accredited by the FECYT are also recognized by the two other Spanish agencies: the National Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI) and the Agency for the University System in Catalonia.
The 27st of March of 2015 the FECYT informed to the Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing the renewal of the Certificate of Excellence for the journal Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural. You can read more information in the web site of the Spanish Excellent Journals.
The Journal was indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) in 2016. The ESCI is the new edition of Web of Science, and Thonson Reuters is assessing the quality of the journals of ESCI in order to add those ones with a high scientific quality in the Science Citation Index Expanded™, Social Sciences Citation Index®, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index®.
