SEPLN 2025
XLI International Congress of the Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing
Zaragoza, 23-26 September 2025
The Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing (SEPLN) is pleased to invite you to participate in the 41st edition of the SEPLN Congress, to be held in the vibrant city of Zaragoza, a historical and technological enclave where tradition and innovation intertwine to inspire the future of Natural Language Processing (NLP).
In a world where digital information continues to grow exponentially and is available in multiple languages, advances in NLP are essential to facilitate access and efficient analysis of this information. Current needs range from automatic content generation to improved human-computer interaction, challenges that the scientific community and industry are addressing through advanced technologies. These range from information extraction and retrieval, language modelling, machine translation, textual content analysis, text generation and simplification, speech recognition and synthesis, and more.
The main objective of the SEPLN 2025 Congress is to provide a meeting place for the scientific community and industry to present and discuss the latest advances, challenges and applications of PLN. This forum will be an excellent opportunity to share R&D&I projects, as well as to learn about success stories and practical applications that are transforming various sectors. It will also encourage the active participation of new professionals, facilitating their integration in this exciting area of research and development.
We look forward to your participation in Zaragoza, a city that will witness the debates and discoveries that will shape the course of PLN in the coming years!

Organisation of the congress
The Congress will last three days and will feature scientific papers, abstracts of research projects and demonstrations of products or prototypes related to the Congress themes. In addition, on 2 3 September there will be a day of workshops, the highlight of which will be the workshop IberLEF 2025.
Types of articles and guidelines for authors
SEPLN 2025 will accept three types of papers: (1) scientific contributions, (2) abstracts of research projects, and (3) descriptive papers of system demonstrations.
Scientific contributions. These articles will be published in the journal Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural, which aims to enhance the development of the different areas related to PLN, improve the dissemination of the research being carried out, identify future guidelines for basic research and show the real possibilities of application in this field. The scientific quality of the Journal is supported by the JCR 2021 index (JCI: 0.21, Q4-Linguistics – ESCI), the SCImago Journal Ranking index (SJR: 0.217, Q4-Computer Science Applications, Q2-Linguistics and Language), the Scopus index (CiteScore: 1.5, Q4-Computer Science Applications, Q2-Linguistics and Language) and the SNIP index (Source Normalized Impact per Paper) with 0.37 points. More information at http://www.sepln.org/la-revista/calidad.
This type of articles can be written in English or Spanish and should be a maximum of 10 A4 pages in length plus an unlimited number of pages for references. These articles must contain at least the following information:
- The title of the article (in English and Spanish).
- The article must be anonymised, as the journal applies double-blind peer review.
- An abstract of a maximum of 150 words (in English and Spanish).
- A list of related topics or keywords (in English and Spanish).
- Documents may not include headers or footers.
Details on formatting and templates for Latex and Microsoft Word can be found at: http://www.sepln.org/la-revista/informacion-para-autores.
Camera-ready versions and pre-publication policy
Final version – The final version of the paper (camera ready) must be submitted with a document explaining how the reviewers’ suggestions have been implemented. This document will be taken into account for acceptance or rejection of the paper in question.
Pre-publication policy – The journal allows the publication of an unreviewed version of articles on pre-publication platforms (non-evaluated article platforms such as ArXiv). However, during the review period the article must be marked as “under review” in the journal Natural Language Processing. If the article is accepted, the publication must be updated in the pre-publication platform with the DOI, journal name and bibliographic information of the article.
Summaries of research projects. These are summaries of research projects under development. This type of article should include:
- Title of the project.
- Author’s name, affiliation and contact information. The review of these articles does not follow a double-blind approach
- Funding institutions.
- Research groups involved in the project.
- Abstract in English of a maximum of 150 words and a list of keywords.
- Minimum length: 5 pages.
- Maximum length: 6 pages (including references).
- Language: English. Articles written in Spanish will not be accepted.
The method of submission will be indicated on the platform at a later stage.
Articles describing system demonstrations. This type of articles should be related to PLN applications, and should describe the technical aspects and details of the PLN components used or developed. The article must be written in English and the minimum length of the article must be 5 pages and the maximum length 6 pages including references.
Further details on how to submit through the platform will be provided at a later stage.
Papers summarising research projects and describing system demonstrations will be published on the CEUR Workshop Proceedings platform, which is widely known in the computer science community. Therefore, these papers have to follow the CEUR style guide and its Latex template, which can be downloaded here.
Article submission information. The deadline for submission of articles is 23 March 2025. Information on how to submit articles in PDF format via a new platform is forthcoming.
All articles will be double-blind reviewed by at least three members of the SEPLN advisory board.
