The SEPLN journal was created in the year 1983 with the goal of spreading qualified research developed in the field of Natural Language Processing. Since then, the journal has received the FETYC's certificate of excellence and has been included in the ESCI index, being classified by Google Scholar with an index h of 11.

Spread the research work

The main SEPLN's goal is to promote the research work in the field of Natural Language Processing or Human Language Technologies. This work is based not only on the journal's publications but also on the generation of a directory of all research groups working in the field of NLP at the level of the Spanish state, as well as all published theses under this theme throughout our Spanish geography.

Promote NLP in the academic field

The resources and results obtained in the research of Human Language Technologies have awakened the interest of the business sector, which has discovered the enormous possibilities of this field. This fact is causing an exponential growth in the demand of qualified professionals. One of our goals is to promote and strengthen the teaching of methods of automatic language treatment to solve this growing demand.

Generate community

Another of our main goals is to become a national and international point of contact for researchers working in the field of natural language processing. With this in mind, for more than 30 years an annual congress has been held with conferences, technical sessions, communications, demonstrations, and roundtables to discuss and share knowledge.
